Terms of Service — Publishd

Effective date: June 23, 2026.

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of Publishd, a product of Cohesion Labs LLC (“Cohesion Labs,” “we,” “our,” or “us”), built and operated in partnership with The Ortho Minute LLC. By creating an account or using Publishd, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the platform.

The Service

Publishd is an AI-assisted manuscript preparation tool that helps orthopaedic surgeons and researchers prepare, validate, and format manuscripts for journal submission. The platform provides guidance on journal requirements, formatting, and common rejection patterns, but does not guarantee acceptance by any journal and does not constitute legal, regulatory, or professional publishing advice. Journal names, logos, and submission requirements referenced within Publishd are used for informational purposes only. Publishd is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or partnered with any journal or publisher.

Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and a healthcare professional, researcher, or someone acting on behalf of one to use Publishd. By using the platform, you represent that you meet these requirements.

Accounts

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately at hello@publishd.ai if you suspect unauthorized access. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

Acceptable Use

You agree to use Publishd only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You may not:

Upload content that you do not have the right to use or share.
Use the platform to submit fabricated, plagiarized, or fraudulent research.
Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or extract data from the platform.
Use automated tools to access the platform without our written permission.
Interfere with the platform’s security, integrity, or availability.
Violate any applicable laws, journal publishing ethics, or institutional policies.

Your Content

You retain all rights to the manuscripts and materials you upload to Publishd (“Your Content”). By uploading content, you grant Cohesion Labs a limited, non-exclusive license to process and analyze Your Content solely to provide the service to you. We do not use Your Content to train AI models without your explicit opt-in consent, and we do not share Your Content with third parties except as described in our Privacy Policy.

You represent that you have the right to upload Your Content and that doing so does not violate any third-party rights, confidentiality agreements, or institutional policies. You further represent that you have obtained appropriate consent from co-authors and other individuals whose information you enter into Publishd, including their names, email addresses, institutional affiliations, ORCID identifiers, and conflict-of-interest statements.

AI-Generated Suggestions

Publishd uses artificial intelligence to generate suggestions, edits, and feedback on your manuscript. You acknowledge that:

AI suggestions are provided for informational and editorial assistance only.
You are solely responsible for reviewing, verifying, and approving all content before submission to any journal.
Publishd does not guarantee that following its suggestions will result in acceptance by any journal.
AI outputs may contain errors, omissions, or inaccuracies; always apply your own professional judgment.

Intellectual Property

All software, design, branding, and technology underlying Publishd are the property of Cohesion Labs LLC and its partners, and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. Nothing in these Terms grants you any rights in our intellectual property other than the limited license to use the platform as described here.

Subscriptions and Payments

Access to Publishd may require a paid subscription. Subscription terms, pricing, and renewal policies will be presented at the time of purchase and are incorporated into these Terms by reference. All fees are non-refundable except as required by applicable law or as expressly stated in your subscription plan.

Subscription plans include a specified allocation of AI processing tokens. Unused tokens do not roll over between billing periods. When your token allocation is exhausted, AI features will be unavailable until the next billing period or until you upgrade your plan.

We reserve the right to change pricing with at least 30 days’ notice. Continued use after a price change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the new pricing.

Disclaimer of Warranties

Publishd is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Cohesion Labs LLC and its officers, directors, employees, agents, and partners will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of Publishd, including but not limited to journal rejections, loss of data, or loss of revenue — even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

Our total liability to you for any claim arising out of these Terms or your use of the platform will not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Cohesion Labs LLC and its affiliates and partners from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of your use of Publishd, Your Content, or your violation of these Terms.

Termination

You may close your account at any time by contacting hello@publishd.ai. We may suspend or terminate your access at any time for violation of these Terms, with or without notice. Upon account closure, you may request export of Your Content for up to 30 days. After 30 days, Your Content will be deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Colorado, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising under these Terms will be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Colorado, and you consent to personal jurisdiction in those courts.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or by a notice within the platform at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of Publishd after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
